External lighting is often the source of nuisance tripping of both RCDs (a Residual Current Device detects small fault currents to earth and disconnects the supply) and MCBs (a Miniature Circuit Breaker replaces the old style fuse to disconnect your circuit in the event of a fault). Damaged cables in walls from fixing photo frames, shelving or curtain rails. (you might not notice a problem until you turn something on!). A loss of Earth connection could potentially be fatal. If you notice a tingling sensation when touching any metallic surface in your home, call us immediately! Damaged socket fronts and switches should be replaced as a matter of urgency. Common Problems
We’ve put together a list of the most frequent problems we encounter.  If you are experiencing any of these issues or any other electrical fault, give us a call for a professional, reliable and cost effective solution.

If your RCD has tripped and will not reset, try turning off all MCBs in your consumer unit and then reset the RCD. Now you can turn on each MCB one at a time to find out which circuit is causing your problem. When you have found which circuit is causing the problem you can safely leave the rest on and call us to fix the faulty circuit.
